Indigenous Peoples

Dealing with our colonial legacy has been one of the most challenging and pressing public policy issues of our time. While progress has been made in supporting Indigenous peoples rebuilding within a renewed federalism, the advances that have been made are typically sporadic, uneven and far too slow. There is, however, a clear path forward based on ideas and solutions that have been developed over many years, and in some cases tested, that have not been truly embraced by governments of all stripes or fully implemented.  To make the transformational change that Indigenous people are calling for, and that Canadians want, requires political commitment and courage supported by action that transcends partisan politics.
